Nic's Restaurant, Chiangmai Thailand
This restaurant project, completed in 2012, incorporated passive cooling. The main dining area was ventilated by cross breezes through folding screen doors, and timber louvers provided additional ventilation at high level. Local Thai building materials and techniques were incorporated, with exposed clay brick and bamboo featured throughout. Bespoke indoor and outdoor furniture used a palette of local materials - concrete, steel, salvaged hard woods.
